Finally! I was beginning to worry that Paramount was going to ignore Blu-ray like a little child pouting.
Hopefully some of their major catalogue tiltes will be forthcoming in the third/fourth quarter. |

Is it me or is the list SUPER thin? I just find the release schedules lacking. I must say I am disappointed that the floodgates haven't opened anywhere yet.

I suspect the floodgates will open in third and fourth quarter just in time for Christmas possibly coinciding with the first Profile 2.0 Blu-ray players.
Personally I want the studios to take their time and get it right. Blu-ray can't afford the bad publicity that would be generated if a set of badly mastered discs hits the market. Be patient! |

BD had plenty of bad press during the first 6 months of its existence.

I already own Aeon Flux. What is being released on May 20th? Is it just a re-release of the existing BD or did they make changes to it??

I'm guessing they are merely re-pressing the existing titles without any changes.

Where's the Bourne trilogy? I guess they're holding that one off until the holiday season.

I was wondering why I couldn't find Sleepy Hollow to replace my HD DVD copy anywhere. HMV.ca still had some in stock. I forgot about Paramount going HD DVD for a while.

I wonder if Paramount will re-author Transformers with TrueHD before releasing again.
http://www.thedigitalbits.com/#mytwocents "we've learned from our sources in the meantime that all of the newly announced Paramount Blu-ray titles will feature Dolby TrueHD 5.1 audio, save for the titles originally authored last year (like Face/Off, Next and Blades of Glory). However, we're told that going forward, Dolby TrueHD audio should become a standard feature on the studio's Blu-ray titles as they're newly authored. Also, most of the new titles will be on BD-50 discs and many of the video extras will be in full HD. We've also learned that many of Paramount's previously released Blu-ray titles will be officially returning to store shelves in May, including Aeon Flux, Babel, Black Snake Moan, Coming to America, Dreamgirls, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, Sleepy Hollow, The Untouchables, Trading Places, We Were Soldiers and World Trade Center (all due on 5/20). You might also recall that the Blades of Glory Blu-ray was yanked right before it was set to be released last year. We'll, it's now finally streeting on 5/20 as well." |
