Sorry Bruce but CHAN-DT was not meant at this point to be covering the same contour as their analogue station, so I'm not really surprised that it is not showing up in Bellingham at only 8.3kw ERP. I wish it wasn't so low for your sake and for people on the Island too.

I'm using the signal meter on the Sony HD 34XBR960N.
Regarding a preamplifier...I've been looking at the Channel Master 7777...If I buy one where is the best location nearest to the garage antenna or inside the house next to the tv input. Perhaps I should try the pre-amp before spending more $$$ on a new antenna...Any advice or guidance is much appreciated. AND RE 8.3KW ERP...Is that the same issue I'm having with CIVT? And why did I get a 2 second 98 reading blip on 22.2...up from the standard 32-35???Again no picture, no lock??? |

Xboy360 - CHAN, CBUT, CIVT, etc, are all on Mt Seymour.
Levi - the CM 7777/7775/777x all have a power injector you put by your TV, and an outdoor module you put on the antenna mast and connected as close as possible to the antenna's outputs. There's no guarantee it'll work, as location trumps pretty much anything else, but if you currently don't have an amp it could be the swing factor. I can't explain the blip/spike you got, and kinda doubt 8.3kW ERP is as big a problem as 0.3kW ERP (CIVT). Perhaps your location isn't great, perhaps you've got multipath - I know that 4DTV HD makes site visits to analyse the spectrum and give recommendations. Good luck, LH |

Signal strength is 27 this morning. For a station I haven't been able to receive YET, it doesn't appear to be very active, signal-wise.

I actually spoke to guy at chan and there is an issue best explained by him I was hoping he'd dropped in yesterday ( post 116) to give the info on that topic. So I am just waiting for that to happen.
