Default Help! Additional Rogers Digital Box

I have a Rogers Digital Cable Box on the main floor of my house and i pretty muhc get all the channels. Now in the basement i get regualr cabe tv. My friend has 2 rogers cable boxes which he has used with rogers i nthe past but since he moved out of town gave to me. Would i be able to just plug it into the tv in the basement and get the same amount of channels? Or will it send a signal to rogers and block everything...if so..is there a way aorund that?

Your boxes would be dead until they are activated under your account. To go around that, is piracy and it is not welcomed in these forums.

Your friend just has to call Rogers and tell them that he his giving it to you. You may or may not have to confirm this depending on the CSR. Sometimes they want to talk to the new owner of the box, and sometimes they don't need to.

After that you will have an authorized box and you'll get all the channels on your account. If you have another box (of the same type, for instance SD) then it'll be all the same channels on both boxes.

No other way around it.
