It is indeed a DPP Separator (part #123254). It works fine when connected directly to one LNB feed (without the switch) and to the two receiver inputs: Check Switch shows two tuners with DPP detected. Separator seems good, but I will try what you say anyway.
Too bad I cannot leave the DPP Twin LNB installed with my existing "legacy" switches, I would only have to play with switch connections, thus reducing downtime for my neighbors. Thank you. |

Well that seems to rule out the Separator and the LNBF.
I can only guess that the Power Supply or Switch must be defective, providing that the DPP44 is connected correctly and that the Power Supply is on the correct Port etc, which I am sure you have checked more than once..... Obviously you have looked closely at the connectors between the Inserter and Switch. After all that it just has to be switch or Power Supply/Inserter. If you are close to me I can loan you the parts to try and prove what is bad. |

Power supply/inserter always connected to output port 1 of the DPP44.
I have connected the 2 lnb feeds to multiple combinations of DPP44 input ports, but usually 1 and 2. I have tried the 9241 on the power inserter only, then a 5900 on the power inserter and the 9241 on port 2. Failure on both. I have looked at connections, but I am not sure here... I have read that the DPP44 must be horizontal (it is) and cabling must not bend at all (have done my best). I also don't know if the cable itself is "compatible" (RG6?). I really appreciate your offer, but I am in Quebec City, not quite close. |

The one thing lot remember with the swith.Switch is the copper center conductors on the cables have to be longer than "normal" for the switch.

Im heading down to my US home next week and im going to bring back a bunch of Dish Net eq, and was wondering if I can run 5 receivers(2 being dual tunner) off of 1 DPP44? With DPP seperators of course.

No, the DPP44 will run 4 Receivers, they can all be Dual Tuners or all Single Tuners, you cannot run 2 Single Tuners off a Seperator.
if you are not intending going over the 6 receiver limit, you could consider a couple of DPP33's, the second just connects to the first one, so no more lines from the Dish/LNBF are required. |

You can pick up 2 dpp44's and stack them, so you will have 8 outputs.

Yes you can, you can even do 3 DPP44 switches with 12 output feeds, not that it would ever be needed, but if is possible. The connectors on the right side of the switch are for cascading two switches together, going to the left side of the second switch.

Ok so I ended up picking up 1 Dish 500/DPP Twin LNB, 2 DPP44's and 4 DPP seperators, and the total tally was $120 and no tax. Is this a good price? Im not sure what the DPP eq goes for here. Also my buddy showed me there hook up in the store of 2 DPP44's as they run 2 922's and 2 722k's off of one DPP44 alone, so I think I got the handle on the install.

The DPP44s used to street at dealers for around $79 each including the power inserter.
So yes, you got a good deal. |

Well I got it all hooked up and it works great. Very easy to do with a lot less cables. The check switch is nice & fast as it goes from 1-4 instead of 1-38. Much better.

Hello all,
After my previous posts and good replies received (thanks everyone!), I have discovered that the power supply of my DPP44 was faulty. We got it repaired and it now works perfectly for my 9241 (connected on the power inserter to switch port 1). However the 6131 (on switch port 2) doesn't work well. It detects the DPP44, but the "check switch" ends with an error message about missing channels. Indeed some are missing. Signal % is good on both 91 and 82, but the Sys Info shows red X's. The 6131's software version is V168. Any idea why this does not work for the 6131? Thanks. |

No reason at all.
Try swapping the port on the DPP44 see if that makes a difference. Also, run a Check Switch with no cable attached to the 6131, let it fail, this will default the receiver back to Legacy, then save and run Check Switch again, after connecting to switch. |
