If you aren't adding any new equipment/receivers, then you can run the 3 receivers you have off the 1 dish.
First off though, there is no such thing as a "HD dish". I suspect you mean a dish setup with 2 LNBs. Option using your current equipment: Using only the dish with the 2 LNBs, take 2 feeds from the LNB in the 91 slot and feed those into the 3x4 MS. Take 3 of the outputs and feeds those to your 3 x 3100 receiver. Take the remaining feed from the 3x4 along with a single feed from the LNB in the 82 slot and input those into one of the SW21 switches. Take the output from the SW21 and feed that to your 6100. Alternatives: If you have other programming from 82 that you want to see on the 3100s (non-HD) then you could use the SW44. As a partial solution, using your existing equipment, you could use the second SW21 to make another combined feed for one of the 3100s. If you are adding or replacing any of the receivers, then your setup may vary, but based on your original post, I suspect you are not. I have had a singlle Bell 9200 receiver installed for a few years now. I have 4 coax lines from the dish to a SW44 switch. 2 outputs from the SW44 feed the 9200, with the power inserter installed on the #1 output switch. The 9200 has worked fine with both signal feeds working fine.
I recently bought an additional 9241 receiver, adding a second dual tuner receiver. I ran 2 new coax lines from outputs #3 & 4 of the SW44 to the 9241. However I am not getting any signal at the new receiver. I have run the check switch at least 4 times now, and still nothing. Any suggestions at troubleshooting this? Am I missing something obvious |

I would start with the basics, the connectors. Check them for pieces of strand causing a short.
Can you try the 9241 on the 2 feeds at the 9200 location, just to prove that the receiver is not defective.? |

I have 4 receivers hooked up through a SW44 switch. The cable for one of the 31oo receivers was unhooked momentarily and then reconnected. Prior to disconnecting it the receiver was working fine. I am now unable to receive a signal on that receiver. When I run the check switch option it is not recognizing the switch either. Am still receiving signal on the other 3 receivers without any complications, just seems to be this one for some reason. Any ideas on what to do?
Update - some of the channels are coming in but most are not receiving a signal. As well the guide is not being updated either. |

Has nothing else changed.? You have not modified the wiring etc.?
Try removing Smart Card, let the screen go to the Sys Info one, then reinsert the Card, it will reboot and re-download the guide. Then run a Check Switch. |

nothing else has been modified. A fourth receiver was added but in a different output. That output just got unplugged by mistake and now it doesnt want to pick up all channels or download the guide.
So after i remove the card will the system info screen come up automatically or do i need to find it within the menu? Sorry not very technical with all of this |

That didnt work unfortunately. Some of the channels are coming in but the giude is still not being downloaded. Also when you change channels before the program comes up the error message for Temporarily not receiving signal is there. It seems like the receiver doesnt want to lock in to a signal permanently

Have you tried this 3100 in another location and tried another 3100 in this location.?

Well I tried the suggestion. I hooked up the 9241 at my existing location where the 9200 is. Check switch worked fine. Interestingly, the reception on both feeds was not great, about 50%, however the 9200 is getting better than 80%.
As a side check, I tried the 9200 on the new hookups where the 9241 is supposed to go. When the check switch was run, it gave me an error message stating that "there is one less signal/feed/satellite input than before - are you sure you want to save?" Thanks for your input. |

In addition to not receiving a signal on the 3100 I am now not receiving a signal on my 4100. This receiver was working last night, turned it on this morning and there is no signal. So out of my 4 receivers only 2 of them are getting a signal. No wiring has been changed around. Could this be a problem with the switch itself?

It seems like the 2 receivers that are getting a signal are on the left side of the switch (in spots 1 & 3) and the 2 not getting a signal are on the right side (spots 2 & 4). Is there anything that i can try before going out and buying a new switch or paying the money to have a tech come out and look at it?

If you have any friends, neighbors, or relatives you could try your receivers at their place. It really seams like you shorted your switch. If the receivers have no problems at another location that is probably your problem.

Bypass the switch to test the existing cabling/receivers.
Connect one line at a time to ensure an issue with one cable isn't affecting another port. Test the output of thepower supply. Diconnect all connections and reconnect ensuring a snug fit. |
