Guys on TSN were saying we can expect him to be out longer than 4 weeks, or at the very least he won't be back in full form for longer than 4 weeks.

This is a massive blow for the pens. They have just been playing well enough to win but not great. They were expected to be a top 4 now they will be lucky just to make the play offs.

But make it they will, and Sid will be well rested (as will his buddy Roberts). Injuries happen. The Pens will be find -- in fact, this is a great opportunity for them to find out just how well the rest of the team can get. Time for Malkin to step it up (actually, he already has, and this injury probably means he's headed to the All Star Game); time for Staal ro get back to his rookie season form; time for Therrien to start coaching again.

60%?

I think your math is off. Sid has 63 pts, the Pens have 133 GF, which puts Sid in on 47% of their goals (Malkin 39%), and he's scored 15% of them (Malkin 17%), and he's got ~18% of the total points scored by Pittsburgh players.

Crosby's injury will definitely hurt and others, especially Staal, will need to step up.

Gary Bettman must be having a heart attack right about now.
No Heatley in the All Star game, no biggie. But now Crosby goes down. Bettman really believes that the All Star game attracts new US viewers to the game.

The incident looked so benign too. It'll be a blow to the NHL. So many stars have dropped out or have had to drop out due to injury.

Good point. And don't forget Luongo isn't there either. But Chris Osgood is. haha Way to sell the game there.

yep, too bad, especially since

Osgood has 356 wins, 189 losses, 66 ties and 2 cups, compared to Luongos 184 wins, 206 losses, 33 ties and ZERO cups. What a shame for the league

So you're saying Osgood is better than Luongo? That IS what you're saying, right?

I am saying one is a winner, one isnt. Luongo is excellent dont get me wrong. I would say he is definately the better goalie in some ways. Osgood can win when it counts however. Always has in every level he played. This is why I would take him in a cup final over Luongo.
