Default Star Trek XI Reboot - Cast Pictures Plus First Official Shots of the New Enterprise

Here are

pictures of the cast at the Cloverfield premiere.

Plus just released today,

the first official pictures of the new Enterprise.

Sigh.

Treat her like a lady and she'll always bring you home.

Looks like a nice mix of the The Motion Picture and TV series Enterprise.

The teaser trailer isn't particularly useful, but the pics are interesting...and Uhura looks better than ever!

The actors chosen for Kirk and Spock are not leaving me with warm and fuzzies.

Plus... having just seen how bad Cloverfield is, I'm not all that warm and fuzzy about JJ Abrams either.

You know what they say about the odd-numbered Trek films - it remains to be seen if that particular rule applies for this one

I was always dissapointed with the next gen movies. I always found the previews to look just fantastic but found most of the best parts of the movie were in the preview. Yes that's common for all movies but it seemed especially common to any trek film. I enjoy the original trek films over the next gen ones even though I never watched the original series. It was trek 4 when they were off to save the whales wasn't it? The interaction between Spock and the sad sad inhabitants of 20th century earth were just hilarious. I get a chuckle just picturing Spock, Jim and the marine biologist lady driving down the road. The whole scene was just brilliant!

Great interview with James Cawley - executive producer of the New Voyages.

http://www.veoh.com/videos/v3299904gWXrExam

Cawley managed to get on the sets to see filming of the new movie and he was blown away by what he saw. He's an obvious purist and it is extremely gratifying to see his total buy in to the vision that JJ Abrams has for Star Trek.
