Default Cogeco email problems anyone else?

over the last few weeks I have had times with email problems. its realy slow to recieve mail it just took about 20 minutes to pick up about 15 emails. also I cant send it seems to go then I get a popup that indicates that there was a timeout error and that the message was not sent.

regular browsing is fine so the connection speed is good. so I tried to access the Cogeco webmail site and it is also painfully slow even just logging in . the rest of the cogeco site is fine.

This has happend a bunch of times in the last week I am in Peterborough

Angry No webmail for me either.

I haven't been having a problem for as long, but as of today Webmail refuses to allow me to log on to any of my email accounts and tells me that I either have my username or password incorrect.
I'm not impressed with this as I trust Cogeco with my business email. Even worse, I had hoped to not have to bog down my laptop with further programs and relied on Webmail to keep my program load light.
My desktop computer email client works fine.

I have found webmail to be often very slow. Today is no exception. but pop mail seems just fine using outlook and I-touch.

I did have some password issues a few weeks ago and had to call to have it reset since the primary email password got locked out. the CSR told me that possibly due to the recent phishing for cogeco email information lately they have had many calls for primary email password resets.

Default Cogeco email problems

I talked with Tech support Thursday night (11th) and they tell me that all of Cogeco areas have email problems since Nov 30th! Problems mainly early morning times and late afternoon, slow mail, no mail, or only few emails come through. They are working on the problems, I ask for a credit, good luck with that. G.

Default slow e-mail service issues COGECO

Since the end of november, 2009 webmail and e-mail servers at COGECO have not been working regularly or when they are they are extremely slow....it appears to be a universal problem ...the tech people keep saying they are working to fix the problem as I call most every day to complain...they have creditted our account already twice so you have to ask them to do it....i am not really that tech savvy but from what they are telling me they either have outdated servers and or cant hendle the volume...any other thoughts out there????

Default slow cogeco

As an experiment , try BRIEFLY disabling your Cogeco antivirus and firewall and send yourself an email ..... Also , make sure that you are only running one antivirus ...... I believe the problem is with the COGECO Antivirus/firewall , although they will flatly deny this .........

Same here. Webmail is working again, but POP3 shows no messages even though I know I have a bunch.

It became inconsistent on Saturday with various e-mail clients reporting "username or password wrong" type of messages from time to time.

Got worse yesterday and was completely toast by the evening.

It's coming back to life now, with various e-mail clients reporting "service temporally unavailable"...

I thought the message on the Cogeco web site listing the problem was kinda interesting. After mentioning the outage, it went on to say: "We are investigating an issue."

I thought the "an issue" was a rather interesting way to put it....

Whatever happened, it was widespread.

EDIT: Tried Webmail this morning, and the .cgi script just hung.....

I'm at work so I can't test either. All day yesterday Outlook was prompting me for my Password/ID. I just hit okay and it worked. Not so this AM.

Hi! I am in Oakville and its approx 1:30pm and my cogeco outlook email is not working either . On Sat we had tons of looping/reoccuring emails flooding the inbox along with the Enter Network Password & username/password wrong prompts n messages. Clearing out the messages from cogeco webmail online seemed to help, but by Sat email was off and on, with lots of password prompt pop ups.

Now my email access is totally dead, just getting the Send/Receive error and the Enter Password box is popping up literally every few seconds, grrr.

I can't get onto Cogeco's website online and their technical support number is constantly busy, does anyone have any update or know what is going on?

Thanks for any info, I run a home busines and am anxious about being behind..gah.
cheers
