Seems to be still an issue albeit smaller. But in my tests at Costco it did not drop off significantly unless you were quite far off-center. If I am not sitting in the cone of sound then I shouldn't be expecting a pristine picture either.

Aren't online manuals amazing.

I just read that this series can be calibrated with only the blue LEDs running. I know the old-school CRTs could be calibrated with the blue gun so this must make the DIY calibrators happy.

Jeeze, Jake, I don't have a Sammy LED DLP RPTV, so I didn't think of looking in my manual...

Oh wait a minute.

Needless to say, I apprecaite you point out that it can display a decent res computer image.

Does anyone else have a Motorola 6412 III cable box connected via hdmi to this tv? It seems to be causing my cable box to lock up. I've never had this problem with my other tv. I need to do more testing, but it seems to only do it when it's directly connected to the tv. When I was running it through my HDMI switch it was fine.

Any ideas?

Does anyone on here actually own a 67" samsung 7 series dlp? I'm looking at one at Leon's here in Halifax/Dartmouth and I'm trying to find out some actual owners of this tv to give there opinions/reviews on it. I'm trying to decide whether to get this or not but I'm waiting on some reviews. I've tried google but there doesn't really seem to be many reviews of actual owners of this tv around.

Thanks

I own one, had it 2 weeks now. looks amazing for HD . Im sitting about 12 feet from it. even 720 source material looks flawless at about 6 feet. I have a 9 foot wide picture window beside it. And a small window behind where i sit, get a bit of a glare from rear window. But can still see ok with brightness turned up. Had to pull on the screen casing to get the geometry to line up. Still out at top corners by about 1/4 inch, dont notice it when watching tv. LEDS hum when i put LEDS on full power in dynamic mode, which i dont use. Takes about 15 seconds to start up, but ya its an awsome tv. at 12 feet i can stand or lay on floor and image is still great. Only problem.. I couldnt find a stand, bought one but tv hangs over by about 3 inches each side.

Hey there rossandmarita, I've been following the 750 thread over at AVS and people seem to complain about the vertical viewing angles. You said that your picture looks good even from the floor?

The only place to put this TV for me would put the bottom of the screen at eye level. How bad is the picture at eye level?

Is this a case of people making too much out of nothing, or is there a significant dropoff.

I know all RPTV's suffer from this to some extent, but I just wanted to know if it's significant.

Thanks a lot rossandmarita.

My couch would be about 11 feet away give or take. The shelf that I would have to put it on is built in so it can't be changed. This will put the bottom of the TV at eye level.

I am just concerned that the quality will drop off and that the screen brightness might not be uniform.

Thanks again!

Huffer,

You could also consider tilting the set forward slightly to to compensate for your viewing position.

Scotta,

Thanks, If I end up buying the set I think I will do that. I just wanted to see how bad it was without it tilted first.
