Wink

I've read that this unit needs a tier sent to the access card before it will work.

Default Finally!

Got Popup on screen telling me PVR functionality is now enabled.
Drive formatted OK
I get 66Hrs of HD content and 495Hrs of SD on my 500GB drive.

Initial test are good for REC/Pause/Skip etc....pretty responsive.

That's better than my x-mas gifts!!!!

Mine did the same thing, everything is good, even tells you LIVE TV in right corner of screen when you change channels so you know you are not recording. Rewind during live tv,pause to go to the bathroom works GREAT. This is the best thing since sliced bread, THANKS Bell TV, you finally came thru with what you promised.... Another happy customer.

Just made two calls to BellTV and two very different responses. I called the french line first, thinking there would be less of a wait time. Waited about two minutes. The tech insisted that the option was unavailable. I insisted he was mistaken. He put me on hold for a couple of minutes and said that it was be activated in the future but not available at this time. I told him about the firmware and new menu options but he still maintained that it was not possible at this time. I left it at that and called the English line. I had zero wait time, the tech told me it was available, told me that the recommended drive was a Lacie 750GB and read a bunch of stuff off a memo. He said that there will be a $25 activation charge in the future but it is being waived for the moment. He said all I have to do is plug in a drive and follow the on-screen instructions and that he did not have to activate anything from his end. Right now, I do not have a drive to test out. I have been waiting forever and didn't want to shoot myself in the foot so to speak. Has anyone been able to just plug and play?

BTW: I will be heading to FS soon to get a drive with my gift certificates. Lacie or Western Digital?

Default Getting setup with PVR function

I noticed the 165 and plugged in a drive. It told me to call BEV to get teh PVR enabled on my unit. So I did..... Tech told me I needed v182 not v165. TRied to get it to update to 182 but it wouldn't. Tried to get latest firmware, but it didn't. Will try again after work. Apparently the 182 is supposed to allow auto connect without reset "hit" from BEV.

What options in the menu have people been using when they call BEV. The guy I got didn't seem to know what was going on.

On another track, I have a logitech harmony remote, has the settings for that been set to allow PVR functions in a Bell 6141 ?

Please advise.

I called the Technical department and had no problems and yes they do send a hit to activate it and I have V165 firmware version.

v182 is for the 9242 reciever, v165 is for the 6141 reciever. Apparently half the techs decided to call in sick on education day.

Just installed mine, it says I need to call Bell to activate it.

Not sure if anyone else had this or not, but that's what I just got.

I had to call Bell twice but now it is working fine. The first person I talked to did not know much about the upgrade. When you get a request to format the drive, you are 10 minutes away from success. I have 100 hours of HD recording with a LaCie 750Gb.
