Default Dish Network and Bell are identical remotes

That is an older version of the remote, but it should work the 6.4 is the most recent of that remote type, but they are all made by Echostar.
Put your 5900 into the "system info" screen from buttons on the receiver, then press the record button twice, then hit "cancel" on the remote it should take you out of the info screen. It should be linked with your receiver now.

The 6.0 is a UHF PRO Remote, the 5900 need a UHF Remote.

Pretty sure the 6.0 was for the 6100 Receiver.

Pinza, you maybe right, but he says it is IR, too.

can7, what colour is the tab at the bottom of the Remote? Green, Blue, Black, or Silver?

You need Green IR (1), or Black UHF, take the battery cover off, as that remote might have a reversible key tab, if you see either black or green on the under side, then pull the tab out an flip over and replace.

I am not sure if the 6.0 has a reversible key tab, or if it came in the later editions.

Glad we could help, I was just about to suggest using the Aux, which can be used to control a second receiver. I believe the key tabs can be purchased individually, you need the black one for UHF, but at least you can control your PVR.

I find when batteries get weak that holding the remote up (towards the ceiling) gets further or better response.

Pinza has also suggested adding a piece of coax and barrel splice to get the antenna up where it can get good reception from any location.
Its been some time, but to complete my story - I picked up a rabbit ears antenna for $15, with its own integrated coax cable, I connected this to the antenna port on my 9241 in place of the Bell antenna, and sat it on the entertainment stand behind the LCD TV - so its completely invisible. This has almost completely solved the problem.

Reception of the UHF signals from the 8.0 UHF PRO remotes are now generally fine anywhere on the floor of the house where the receiver is located, and also from the basement below. Still an occasional "no-response" press - often when I first pick up the remote (do they need to "warm up"?) But its never been totally unresponsive, as could happen before. Also reasonable response from the bedroom, two floors up, where previously I got nothing (altho I'll probably continue with the IR remote and remote extender from there anyway - which is flawless)

This is a great solution. Thanks so much Pinza et al!

Default Dish controller with a Bell receiver

Can you use a Dish controller with a Bell receiver. I am currently in Florida and my Bell controller no longer works. I bought
a used Dish controller seems similar in all respects. I tried to program the controller with the code 11 as my decoder but it does
not work. Thank you for your help. Sorry for my English

Try pressing the Record button on the Remote. Normally you would have the receiver in the System Info screen so you can watch the Remote Address change but this might not be possible unless you have a sys info button on the receiver.

Alternately, there are only 16 address's in the Bell system, so start with 01 and work up to 16, you should get it....

Why are you trying 11 anyway.? Is that what the old one was set to.?

I tried 11 because the decoder is already registered a 11. I know how to change the number of the remote control and the
decoder. My question is what the remote control of the American company Dish bought in the United States can work with Bell and
if so how because the method of Bell does not work

ROB2, The Dishnet remotes will work, I have a couple. If you are still having problems, let us know: what receiver model, what remote model, and what colour tabs (if any) it has.
