Default GSM contract transfer

I'm new to this site but was wondering whether someone would be able to answer a question...

I am currently under contract with a cellphone service provider that uses GSM technology (i.e. no SIM cards). Is it possible to transfer my contract to someone else without giving them my phone? It is not that I am especially attached to my phone, rather the phone is pretty old and would not be a prime selling point. Thanks to anyone who can help me out.

I apologize in advance if there is already a thread started that deals with these types of questions.

I dont get why you said GSM Technology and NO SIM card? that firstly makes no sense

You are transferring your ACCOUNT to someone else, not your contract, but your Contract since its part of your account, it follows the TOR'er too.
All they need to do is buy or obtain a SIM card and call in and have it added to their account, then they can pop it into one of their own locked to their gsm carrier or unlocked phones and WALA it will work. This is what I did years ago and i know it works

Red face

I apologize. I just looked up what exactly GSM meant and you are right it made no sense in that context. In any case, my wireless carrier does not use SIM cards in any of their phones. Would it still be possible for someone to takeover my contract without also having to take my phone or would they just transfer the account details to their own unlocked phone?

yes someone can take over your ACCOUNT not CONTRACT like I said earlier (were you even listnening?)

Your carrier, (Bellus) will have to put a Dummy ESN on the account, so when the TOR'er takes over, they simply call in to Bellus and give them the ESN of the phone they will switch to their account, pay the $25 esn swap fee and away they go.
