Default Need recommendation for a WS monitor

I have a 15" laptop but I often wish that I had a bigger monitor. My laptop is about 2 years old IBM Thinkpad T41. I bought an Acer from Costco a few months ago for about $300 but I did not like the resolution on it. I need something with higher resolution. I will spend about $5-700 on it. I am not a gamer and I don't watch TV on a monitor. What would you recommend?

Thanks.

Why not? Are you trying to output from your notebook to the new monitor. Did you adjust the output resolution?

Why dont you look at the Dell 24 widescreen. It has a resolution of 1920x1200 and has a few good features like a media card reader. It is usually on sale for around $650.

Hugh:

The highest resolution with the Acer was around 1280 by something and I could see pixels that were annoying.

I would make sure that the video card in your T41 can support those high resolutions of 1900x1200 or 1440x900.
