Default Changing the Channel Map?

A few months ago along with 500 to 505 upgrade, the move to 8PSK for the HD channels and new SW for the 530 and 505 there was a discussion about SC changing the order and the grouping of the various channels it offers. I did a search on the topic but found little in the way of new info. Perhaps I missed it, however I was wondering if the re-mapping of the guide is still on and if there is an estimated time when this might occur. Seems like all the other steps have happened. Just curious, thanks.

I certainly hope they will put both MCHD channels together (same with TMN for eastern subs), and ABC-W with other 3 US western networks.

I didn't mind the HD channels starting at "2" BUT i did mind having all the music channels and PPV channels between the HD channels and SD Channels.

Good plan, it was pretty messed up for the brief time I had it.

They can and should do a better job.

Plus I think I pointed out several technical gotchas it caused against existing features.

Thanks for the replies - having not heard anything about it for some time I thought it might have been put on the back burner as well.

The 2-99 thing for HD channels got scrapped for numerous reasons but I also hope that they will renumber the movie channels and abcw because its currently driving me crazy.

Default Asked Jim...

Greetings: New to this, but I did ask Jim this week, and his response is as follows:

We will be introducing a new line up in Feb that starts at 2 and goes up. Adult will be in the 900 and not set up like the current guide. The lower have will have all the Globals and cbc. Think you will like

Regards

Jim

Gee Whiz, sounds like they are going to at least partially some of my suggestions.

So my question is sort of along the same lines here. Is their currently a way I can completely hide the Adult channels? It is quite embarrassing when I am looking for a PPV for my kids and I have to quickly scroll past the Debbie does Dallas stuff. I have locked out those channels but they still appear when I search for PPV's.

Only thing I can think of is Ratings Locks -- but I don't know if that completely hides them either.

Create a Favourites list and block out the unwanted channels.
