Default Resolution question - Dynex DX-LCD32 & *C

Hello,

I bought the Dynex DX-LCD32 from Best Buy last Monday (10% off - $540) and I've been very happy with it - ATSC tuner, 2 HDMI inputs, 2 Component inputs, VGA input, Digital Audio out for ATSC... pretty good quality for the price. 768p set, obviously.

When I hit the Display button it obviously gives me info about the feed it's getting... i.e. OTA HD shows 1080i through a Component connection, my DVDR's progressive scan DVDs show as 480p. This is normal.

Now I picked up the DSR-505 on Starchoice, and as you may know you can set it to output various resolutions (Native [1080i on HD], 1080i, 720p, 480p and 480i). It's hooked up with a DVI->HDMI cable, and when I hit display on this connection it shows the resolution like a PC [i.e. 640X480]. When I set the DSR-505's output to 720p, it shows 1366X768 as expected, and when I set the 480s it shows 640X480.

However, when I set the STB to output 1080i, and hit the display button the TV reports back 1440X900 instead. Any idea why? The owner's manual shows the maximum resolution as 1366X768 btw.

Thanks.

I believe this is a *C question and will move this thread to that forum. The *C receiver may be outputting that particular resolution.

Since it doesn't seem to be a Starchoice question (especially since the entire point of selecting 1080i output is to get... 1080i output), would you mind moving this back to the LCD section of the forum? Thanks!
