Default Two phone lines, one phone

Does anyone where I could get a device which would take two phone lines in (both on red/green) and be able to connect a single-line phone such that

1. if either phone# is called, the phone will ring
2. for outgoing calls, you can select which line to use

I've seen a cheap device at theSource which allows you to manually select one of the lines.

Does such a device exist?

Don't know if this is what you're looking for, but places like Staples sell phones that do all that for about $75.

The inside pair (R-G) are for line 1 and the outside pair (B-Y) are for line 1.

You can't have 1 phone attached to both lines unless it's a 2-line phone.

Single-line phones use the inside (R-G) pair. The adapter you showed just seems to let you connect one device (phone, FAX etc.) to LINE1 at at time. Not sure why anyone would need that device.

You need a two-line phone. You can then splice one of the lines into the other wire's B/Y connectors so you have one physical line (that carries both 'signals') into the phone

That adapter would be used only in certain situations.
Say you only had dial up and you didn't want someone in the house picking up the phone while you were online. You could switch it to 'b' and stop the telephone from accessing the line.

Nem, who remembers selling those types of adapters a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. (no, not tatooine)

Picked up a 2-line 392 on ebay - similiar to the Vista 350 I've been using as my main "Kitchen" phone for 15 years. Very sweet.

Thanks.
