For a progressive scan DVD player, the Pannasonic RP-91 seems to be the best bet. I've got it and I think it's a great player.
JohnnyG is seeling it for about $729 I believe, which is a very good price. Look for his banner adds on this site. Norm |

The RP91 is an excellent player, although it generally sells for $799 (even $899 at some places!).
Toshiba's SD3750 is a very nice unit too at about $349 and you can add DVD-Audio by moving up the SD4700 at $439. |

I should add that the 5700 (a 4700 with HDCD decoder and silver chassis) just got an excellent review from Home Theater magazine (awarded a 'Hot Ticket'), as did the 4700 in Sound & Vision. S&V said the 4700's DVD-Audio playback was the best they've tested so far.

Here's an interesting 7-disc, progressive scan, component out, MP3, DVD player from JVC. I recently bought one for a birthday present for my daughter. Got it for $387 Cdn.
It's great so far. http://www.jvc.ca/en/consumer/produc...model=XV-F80BK |

$387 Canadian is a hell of a price for that unit!
They average around $280 US here. |
