Default Price war is already started, look out xmas

As of today, I have seen some aggressive pricing on these two next gen units. I see Futurshop is adding the usless enchanted arms game with the system again, the 80 gig version comes with the bluray movie 300 as does the 360 come with a game forza 2 and hddvd version of 300. I see zellers is including the remote with the 60 gig model of the ps3. thats about a 30$ savings.

Also does anybody know if when you sign up for a hbc card, the 10% off your first purchase, does it include items from the electronic department? If it did then thats another 55 dollars off the system there, plus the 5 free BR movies you can send away for.

And its only August, I suggest everyone don't buy a thing, not a game, not a system, nothing until xmas. That will only increase the price and incentive war that will occur at that time. Im not buying, If i do, surely a better deal will be out in a week or month.

suit yourself.

Forget hardware price wars. I'd prefer to see a software price war!

The bundling deals have been going on for some time, they just change them during the year,,If they ever do a Bioshock+Halo3 bundle for under $400..watch out!

Ps3 should be bundling at least Resistance Fall of Man with their system

I'm also waiting for...
    • Assurance that all premium 360's in the stores have HDMI and have the "fix" or the new cooler chips to fix the Red Ring of Death Issue also a Halo3 and/or Bioshock bundle
    • PS3 to come out with a better controller then the Siaxis, the trigger buttons are crap and rumble is missing. Both the 60gig and upcoming 80gig need another price drop! And umm...lack of must buy games anyone?...+ a decent game bundle
Ya..I'm picky, but it's my money

I highly doubt Sony will make a new controller design. They may add a new version with rumble but hopefully it is in addition to the existing one. The current PS3 controllers are nice for games that would not benefit from rumble.

We Quebecois get scr*wed with the "void in Quebec" deal where you get 5 Blu-Ray discs with PS3 purchase. Okay the titles are so-so but still ...

I had a Wii & PS3 before I saw the dell deal two days ago for the Elite + Halo3. Couldn't resist, since it was basically "Pre-order Halo 3 and get an Elite for the price of a Premium".

I got a question, the memory card slots and usb ports on the PS3, are they usable as memory cards for game saves, or is that what the HD is used for. Am i right in assuming that the dedicated memory card era is over?

Yeah, that era is over.

Nowadays memory cards are used only for backup/transfer of your save games, and importing/viewing stuff like digital photos.

i couldn't pass on the elite deal either. i dl'd some 1080p trailers off apple.com and played them on both the PS3 (hdmi) and 360 (component). definite difference. with the news that the new premium hdmi's don't have the 65nm, there was no point in waiting.

plus you get the audio dongle.

plus a black 360 is cool.
