Simple question - EV vs Rogers in Toronto

I've recently moved to Toronto (from Boston), and now am faced with two choices for TV service.
I have a Bell phone landline, and DSL (Optimax) for internet. As for TV, I'm not sure what to do... The whole house is wired with internal coaxial (previous owner) for TV, but we really only plan to have a single room with a TV. That room is set up with a 46" 1080P LCD, and I'd like to have HD feed for TV. That said, we don't actually watch much TV, but what we do like to watch (HBO, IFC, Showcase, etc), with the occasional sporting event, we'd like to have HD feed for, and a PVR since our schedules are hectic.
Looking at the websites, Rogers seems to have little HD programming, and the costs for renting a PVR, plus the HD package and everything else is quite high. On the other hand, it appears from their website, Bell is offering a full HD package, with PVR and installation for $102/month (less with my other services bundled). It seems like an obvious choice, but I'd like to get a few opinions from those more experience in this market.

Actually, the costs for Rogers vs Bell are quite similar. IF you have a satellite receiver to "trade in" you can even get the HD STB (or DVR if you negotiate well) for free for a couple of years from Rogers. You can also purchase the DVR (SA8300HD) instead of renting. There are a number of threads discussing Rogers programming costs. Here's a list of Rogers HD programming.

Rogers HD Offering This can actually be superior to Bell, depending on which channels you want. Be aware that HBO is not available in Canada.

I suggest you do your research carefully. BEV is certainly an option, however, their customer service has been dreadful for most people - again discussed in several threads (Rogers is certainly not perfect, but is much better on average) The Rogers Digital VIP offer supplies roughly 225 channels for about $50 per month for new customers ($10 more a year later). The Ultimate VIP with movies may also be an option for you. See the following.
