Default Samsung LNS-4692 Black/Grey rendering and Stuck Pixel

I have had the Samsung LNS-4692 since Jan. 06. I have been quite happy with it, although now. I kind of wish I went with a Panny 42px60(then) plasma. The problem with this LCD is how it renders black or very shadowy grey scenes. It sometimes shows artifacts of purple or green. This is more so in SD than in HD.
Right now I watch mostly SD, reason being I am waiting for new Bell stb's to hit the market. OTA HD sometimes has this proplem of rendering black/gray with purple/green artifacts, but much less apparent. DVD 480p is actaully quite pleasing to the eye, with very little black or greyscale issues. Anyone have this experience with this lcd or similiar? What can I do to possibly correct this?

Also, I have one stuck pixel and I have tried everything to get rid of it but it hasn't gone away. What is acceptable as far as stuck/dead pixels. Are any acceptable? I called Samsung and they suggested I try the tap/press method. Should I justt settle for this kind of support or should I demand more? I dont know.

BTW, how can I upgrade to a better LCD or plasma, with Best Buy. Do they take returns after 7 months at a pro rated basis? Just curious.

See the following regarding:

Stuck Pixels.

SD PQ

Proper Setup of your TV.

I haven't heard of upgrades being available at any stores, especially after 7 months.

Also see:

More information.
