there's rumours that the new PS3 / 80GB version will have a rumble-controller. i actually really like the rumble on the 360 controllers (in an FPS, it's needed when firing assault rifles and when explosions are going off around you )

Ok i bet this has been asked before but is the PS3 a solid BR player? Any bells and whistles missing from the more expensive players?

Input appreciated. I apologize if this has been asked and answered before.

Thanks!

It's supposed to be a very good BD player.

i'm not sure, but didn't the PS3 originally release in Canada for $600 before going up to $700? so now that it's $550, it's only $50 less then it's original price?

Actually I believe it was originally released at $650 before increasing to $700, so the price drop is $100 of the "original" price

Original price was $659 CDN for the 60 GB, $549 for the 20 GB

Then select Canadian retailers started selling the 60 GB for $699 CDN.

Default Wal-Mart is slow to adjust PS3 price

At 4 PM today I checked the price of PS3 at Wal-Mart in Barrhaven (Ottawa), it's still $660. The giant retailer seems slow compared with FS.

Zellers in Bells Corners still has it at $659 too. EB Games locations in town all have it for $549 today though.

I'm definitly buying a ps3 in the next 6-12 months.
I was going to buy a new pc to play fallout 3, but a ps3 is sooo much cheaper, and the new control scheme is #@# awesome (That spitfish controller where left hand is a nunchuck and righ tis a mouse for fps).
don't forget it also
1. upconverts dvd's to 1080p
2. upconverts ps1,ps2 games to 1080p
3. free online
etc etc etc!

For those wondering. The 60GB will no longer be sold in North America but it will be available in Europe.

The net is that if you want a PS3 for under $659, you better buy it fast.

Apparently Sony is now denying that the 60 GB will be phased out...
