I went for the 505 upgrade. Is the credit strictly for $4.99 movies?

No, it is $50 worth of PPVs, not just movies.

Wrong... the $50 PPV credit applies to the $4.99 movies only. The PPV credit cannot be used towards the porno flicks or sports/special events.

GaryE is correct -- it's 10 free regular movies (so roughly $50)

It's $50, but you cannot use it as you wish... What's the point? Maybe I should order something and then complain that it wasn't explained.

nope the others are right it is definitely only good on the $4.99 ppv and you have to use instant ppv or you will be charged the additional fees and they will not cover those. you also only have 90 days to use the credits.

Hmm, I never order porno or managed to use all of my PPV crdits whenever I had any but I was never told that they apply to regular movies only. If thatis the case then why bother? If there was at least one HD PPV channel....

The last time we had credits for free movies I recorded two of them and the first one we deleted withing ten minutes as it was awful. The second one was bearable but we could not find another movie worth watching during the time period of the offer. I explained this to the CSI when I bought my replacement 505 and he offered me $25 in place of the movies. I took the offer so ended up with the receiver for $75.

I think PPV credits are worthless and StarChoice knows that so they basically get $100 or close to $100 from pretty much anyone that gets the DSR505 replacement offer.
