Also am hoping it will be reasonable price wise, and where did you get it from?

FS is selling the Logitech MX3200 wireless keyboard mouse combo for $79 right now at its website and retail stores. I am using one of these for use with the laptop... it is pretty good with decent range.

I use Logitec DiNovo Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. It has been 2/3 years and no problem at all. It has a range of 30 ft which is what you require. The low cost one's typically are 6 ft range.

Edit: the wireless mouse has programmable buttons so that I can control the various DVD viewing softwares. Really convenient.

Compusmart in downtown Toronto is closing and they are unloading all their stock. I got a Microsoft Elite Keyboard and Mouse for Bluetooth for around $100 after tax.

Just installed it, but so far so good and none of the line of sight issues I had with my old wireless keyboard with the bluetooth dongle at the back of my PC. The mouse has 5 buttons on it and the wheel on the keyboard and on the mouse moves sideways as well as rolls. Lots of buttons on the keyboard.

Pretty big keyboard though if that's an issue.

i picked up the BTC 9019URF about a month or so ago, it's great, and very inexpensive. It's RF so you can use it while you're in another room, or other building (really, i tried it for kicks, it works through walls) Joystick kind of mouse interface which works well once you get used to it. lots of extra buttons as well. you can get it at NCIX.com and probably other places for about $40

out of curiousity black, what is the distance between buildings?
i am looking to get a RF, or bluetooth, and i want to be able to use the keyboard
throughout the house (outputting the pc on cable ch#3, HDMI on the bigscreen)
current keyboard is a microsoft 1045 IR
not bad, as long as you have it on your lap, with one leg higher than the other, and the cat/dog/wife/kid doesnt walk by/close to the puter

I have the MS Media Center keyboard.

It only has IR and was designed for Media Center 2005 but it also works with Vista MC.

It works very well as a keyboard and it is pretty small however, if you don't like those "nub" type mice that notebooks have, then the mouse may annoy you.

I don't usually use a mouse within Media Center so it has been a non-issue for me.

I have two of those, one for each MCE system, and they are perfectly fine for what little keyboarding and mousing you should be doing on an HTPC.

probably only about 20 feet or so.. i forgot to mention. something this one has that some such as MCE keyboard don't have is the ability to use the wireless keyboard from startup, meaning you can use your keyboard in the BIOS and such. you don't actually have to be logged into windows to use it, a nice plus sometimes
