Just bought my first LCD, after shopping around, I settled for the Sharp (LC37D43U). Out of the show room and inside my living room I don't regret my purchase and would buy do it again. I haven't used it with my PC, but with the SA8300 & PS2.

Looks like I'll be going with the Samsung unit. I know both BB and FS have it on sale for $200 less than retail, but I am able to purchase it with an additional discount (beyond the $200 off) from an independant store in my city.

If it was the same price I would go with the Sharp, but if the Samsung is $200 or $300 cheaper I would go with the Samsung. Check out Costco.ca they have the LC32D43U for a very good price.

They now have the 26 & 32 inch versions of the Samsung LCD TV at my local Costco. The price on the 32 inch unit is the same sale price at BB and FS. Now that I see the Costco price, I am even more happier with the price I am able to buy it at.

Go for the 32". Size matters. Sounds like a silly 6" upgrading from the 26". But if you work out the math, it's a much more satisfying experience. Take the plunge. Go for the gold. Demand those extra 6". Your wife and/or gf and/or bf will appreciate it as well.

I visited a different Costco location in my city today. I noticed they had the Samsung 32 inch LCD for $999.00 now. I was initially pissed cause at the other Costco location, I reported on here that they were selling it for $1099.00. But upon a closer look, I realized that they were different (confirmed by model #). The cheaper one had two HDMI inputs vs the three HDMI inputs found on the $1099.00 priced unit. The cheaper one also had a lower contrast ratio of 5000:1 vs 7000:1.
Just a heads up for those that are looking at these two units at Costco. I found it wierd that the two stores were carrying two different 32 inch Samsung LCD units (they usually carry the same stock). |
