Samsung keeps turning off

Hey fellas hows it going I got a 50" Samsung DLP I'm not sure about the model the owners manual says its for either
HL-R4264W
HL-R4664W
HL-R5064W
HL-R5664W
HL-R6164W

My problem is it turns off it happens for about a half hour were the tv turns off I turn it back on and 30 seconds to a minute later it turns off again and this goes on for sometimes up to a half hour. It mostly seems to happen in the morning shortly after you first turn on the tv but sometimes it will happen in the middle of the day. This problem first started I guess a couple months ago but it was'nt too bad then it might just turn off a couple times maybe every once a week but now its happening more and more and lasting much longer up to a half hour 3 or 4 times a week.

Also the picture has gotten a bit darker in the past month I got the setting on dynamic now and its not too bad this makes me think the blub is probably starting to go, I'm not sure if both problems are related, Also I think theres a lot of hours on it I'd say 7500 to 10,000 its usually on from 6 in the morning to 12 at night almost every day and i've had it for about 18 months.

I seem to remember something about some Samsung power buttons (on the front of the TV) getting stuck while turning on/off. This might explain your problem. My Samsung HLR 6178 has a big power button on the front of it. I never use it and use the power button on the remote control.

I only use the remote too so that cant be the problem

I think the problem is the bulb when it turns off all 3 lights blink and I looked in the book that means theres a problem with the bulb so I guess I need a new one.

Anyone know where to get new blubs and are they covered under warenty I got the 5 year extended warenty.

Samsung says bulb life is 5,000 to 8,000 hours and 20% less if you leave it on dynamic mode.

So Yes you need a new bulb; bulbs are generally not covered under extended warranties; contact Samsung or investigate some of the advertisers that show up around here.

i got my tv on boxing day of 2006 7 months the dlp wheel went.. nasty sound in the tv.. I called best buy they sent a repari man out to replace the wheel
2&3/4 years l8er early 2008 lights came all on the power button so i changed the lamp.. as the manual said. so i bought one off ebay for $200.
Now my tv just started to turn off when it wants.. so I called best buy agen thinking it was overheating.. repair guy came took the tv for 2 weeks.. when i got it back he said thay changed the 2 fans and a limit switch and cleand it. 2 days l8er it was back to its self turning off over and over.. called best buy agean repair guy came out.. said It must be a bad lamp off ebay.. so i bought one off him for $370 or so.. 2 weeks l8er same thing over over and over..
a other call to best buy repair guy took the tv for 1 month now. he said it never tunred off for them and he don't know what it is. . I just got it back to watch the IIHL tournament. and agean it wont stay on for 5 min before it turns off some days and others not at all or 2 times in one day.. there is a relay click then back screen.. the click sounds to me coming right above the power cord in the back.. then the power button lights are the lamp flashing and the standby.temp light..

Note on the lamp I got from ebay its in my brothers tv now.. we boght the same tv at the same time.and place. to the day and hour. ON my brothers tv lamp housing is defrent.. but the same lamp.. his tv works grate never had trouble at all.
