I know the Panny TH-42PA20 is kind of old from couple years ago, but a friend of mine is selling it for $1300 (asking price), what do you guys think of the TV? Is it still worth it...or better get something else?
I'm currently looking for a TV under $1500, possibility with only standard cable, but might upgrade to HD soon. Thanks everyone |

I predict you'll be able to pick up the current 42PX75U for around $1500 by fall, or boxing day at the latest. IMO $1300's a lot for a 2-year-old plasma.

You lose alot of the advantages of the newer plasmas by getting the PA20 (it's not just about SD vs HD, it's also panel quality - the key player.)
The PA20 is older, repairs and parts are far more expensive. I'd wait a few weeks, save up the extra $400 or so, and get a brand new TH42PX75 w/ full warranty and nice new panel. PS - The price is too high but your friend did pay alot more for that set than you would for a better set today. |
