Default Pioneer 1014, flashing MCACC after power outage

We had a small power outage this morning. When the power came back, my Receiver (Pioneer 1014) wouldn't come on, the only sign of life was the flashing MCACC logo.

I thought it was toast but after googling found a reset procedure (hold enter + video2 for 2 seconds). The thread cautions that this is a 'service' reset and maybe shouldn't be done by the home user.

Anyone else had this issue and have to do the reset? Everything seems to be working fine again, Should I be concerned about it?

Hedge,
Yes a year ago I had a weird power glitch & my 52TX wouldn't come back on. Dealer found out & told me about the reset (being a trusted customer) but cautioned that if another error displayed while trying the reset due to some damage that may have occured, to immediatley unplug it so nothing else would get fried. He said Pioneer may not cover any additional damage under warranty.
