this game is so addicting we played till 2 am this morning, (me and the wife). One thing is, tapping on the drum is loud, so im looking for a way to dampen the sound. Also got some download content thru gamesharing with 4 other people, got most of the songs (paid $30 each person) and were still waiting for the oasis pack.

This game is soooo much fun. My wife is hooked. I love the DLC and it seems others do to... Rock Band DLC goes Multi-Platinum. More than 200 songs in the pipeline for 2008.

Just picked this game up for the XBox 360 from The Source on Saturday for $169.
On-line order only. Took 2 days to arrive.
Great game and a lot of fun, but I'm really glad we had out GHIII controller, because for the life of me, I could not get the Rockband guitar to connect to the Xbox.
Do I have to do something special like with the microphone and bond it to a controller?
I thought I could just plug it into the USB port and all would be good.
I tried every port on the hub (which works fine for both drums and mic), both front ports on the console and even the one on the back.
No dice. For a brief time I was getting the green lights around the connector button on the guitar, but then even they stopped working.
I also put batteries in the back, but I'm sure that's for the wiresless model only.
Anyone else have this issue?
I've visited the warranty page and requested a replacement.
Seeing that bright pink warranty sheet as the first thing really doesn't inspire a great deal of confidence, but if they can correct the issues, then good for them.
Last thing, anyone else getting random dirty disc errors?
This has happened a couple times and we've had to restart the console, then it's worked properly again.
No visible scratches on the disc, but there does look like a big "stain" for lack of a better word.
Might have to get the disc replaced as well.
But I still really like this game.

For the mic you have to use a controller. That had me stumped at first. Also, if you are using the mic and guitare and drums you have to use the supplied powered hub. I like the GH3 controllers more anyway.

Not sure if anyone is still having problems finding this for the PS3 but I just saw a stack of 8 of them at my local Walmart in Ottawa.

the Oasis DLC is what got me off the fence. now if they could only get an entire WTSMG album, i'd be in Rockband heaven.

Whitby Future Shop is selling Rockband for $169 in store.
They have 5 xbox 360 sets left, and several PS3 sets.

Anyone seen a PS2 version of rock band in any stores in the London, ,Toronto or K/W areas?

I can't seem to find one anywhere. There are stacks of the xbox360 and ps3 versions everywhere though.

Default ATTENTION re: Rock Band on PS3 40 gig

I just picked up Rock Band this weekend and had a few comments:

Great game. Lot's of fun.

Note all PS3 40 Gig owners:

1. The 40 Gig PS3 version (the one version that is now $399 in stores) has only 2 USB ports, i.e. you can play 2 instruments at once.

You will need a USB hub to play all 4 instruments a the same time and Rock Band for the PS3 DOES NOT come with the USB hub. You will need to pick that up separate. I am surprised that Rock Star is so quiet about this.

If you have the 80 Gig PS3 ($499), you will already have 4 USB ports, so you won't need the hub.

2. Also, on initial play of Rock Band, there are only about 10-12 to play from the Multiplayer mode. You will need to unlock the other songs. Songs are also for sale on the Playstation network are about $2.99 each and are limited.

Hopefully as Rock Band gets bigger, there will be more songs available for download and at a better price.

3. Future Shop offers a 2 year extended warranty ($39.99) on Rock Band Special Edition. If something breaks, the can replace it. May be worth it as it sounds some of these instruments break quickly.

- buy the dlc on the US PSN, using entropay its much cheaper. (also, you dont have to pay gst)
- If you have 4 other friends with rock band you can split the cost of the dlc, this is what gamesharing is all about.
