Default Shaw should add more Guide Options

Hey,

I sure that most of you are not familiar with Sasktel's Max TV service, but you can adjust the TV guide to only show the channels you subscribe to. I really wish I could do this with my Shaw Service. Anyone hear any rumors on if something like this is coming out?

The version of i-guide that Shaw is using is several months old when compared to what i-guide version Comcast is using. The mentioned thread discusses some improvements to i-guide. Based on other forum discussion, the new version will be coming to SHAW sometime this year.

I noticed the "TV Guide" logo on those Comcast screen shots...

One day a week or so ago, when I paused a show, the screen saver came on and had the "TV Guide" logo with it...it never happened before and hasn't happend since...I wonder if they were testing something???

I think the tv guide logo shows initially if your DCT lost its connection and the guide information is being loaded on your DCT. Besides the content, how the i-guide looks is manipulated as the SHAW logo replaces the TV Guide logo eventually. There a couple of other noticible cosmetic changes that occur as well.

exner84,

I don't know how long you've been monitoring this kind of stuff (I noticed your join date as Feb 2007, welcome by the way).

Nonetheless, firmware updates on Motorola-Shaw boxes are way too scarce and fail to even take full advantage of what's "under the hood".

I have no idea we have all these ports, inputs and outputs and most of them don't work. That's been a beef of mine for along time. All these bells and whistles add to the cost of the box, but they are useless. If Shaw doesn't want us to use them, why force their customers to buy useless accessories on the DCT boxes?

As far as the guide, not only should there be more option, but we should ALL have access to at least one week of programming. It's completely unacceptable that I can't see what's on in 4 or days. There is no excuse for it as this guide info uses very little bandwidth.

I second that last paragraph! See the thread 'New Message about Guide Data'; maybe a place to complain?
