Hello everyone,
I have a Fido line which I have been using for more than two years. At first this was a prepaid account on my name, but when i wanted to switch to a monthly package, they just didn't accept my credit card so I had to register it to my friend's name. I am not on a contract, I just have monthly payments, $25/month package. Unfortunately, I lost contact with him, don't know where he is, what he is doing etc., and now because of some changes in my life, I HAVE TO cancel / close this account in a month because he did a favour to me and I don't want him to be responsible from anything caused by this line. Do I have to FIND him?? I can't Thanks~ |

I suggest you call Fido and talk to them since this is pretty out of the ordinary.

What does "they just didn't accept my credit card" mean? are you saying you did not pass the required Credit Evaluation Check for all monthly subscribers? so because of that, the Account was set up in your friends name because he was able to pass the credit check? Now you have a Monthly Account in your friends name which he is responsible for, and he was aware of the Terms and Conditions of being a Fido Subscriber, but You want to pretend to be him so you can cancel his line? because if that is what you are doing, then its wrong. Fido will only Cancel an account with the authorization from the BAN (Billing Account Number) Holder, same with rogers and bellus.
Hate to break it to you but you better start looking for your friend soon. |

Well, you can try returning the phone to Rogers and insist that they give something in writing that they accepted the phone back (with the ESN). After all, they would do this if you found a lost cell phone and returned it to them, wouldn't they?
That way you don't appear as if cancelling someone else's phone out of revenge. |
