Hello! I am just looking into getting a cell phone. I live in south-eastern saskatchewan, and wondered if anyone had advice about a company that has decent reception out here...
I've looked into SaskTel (which may have better coverage but not as good of phones) and Rogers. Does anyone know about Rogers Coverage...?
I really appretiate the help!

It is limited in the areas it covers. The extreme southeastern part of the province does not have coverage.

I''ve used both systems, and I must say Roger's much more superior. When I was on SaskTel, I had a samsung A660 (still one of their current free phones I believe) and 50% of my calls would drop (not an exageration). The phone had very poor in building reception. My friend was on a family plan with two audiovox phones, and he had the same problems. 5 months ago I worked part time in a mall and found everyone who came into my store with a SaskTel phone would also drop calls. I later found it it was because of their CDMA network, they lack teh 850mhz signal that is known for penetration buildings. One key note though, it seemed Nokia candy bar phones (not flips) would carry a signal much better than any other SaskTel phone, so if you do decide to go with SaskTel, I would reccomend a nokia over any other model.

Since SaskTel would not give me a deal on a nokia candy bar phone (which is also one of their cheapest models), I decided to dump them and go to Roger's. I sampled a nokia 6102 flip, motorola v360 flip, and a sony, and they all had perfect reception. If you're wondering how I could sample so many phones it is because I know people who had them and all we had to do was swap sim cards (a nice convience). (I bought the sony ericsson w300i and love it). Ii pay a bit more on roger's, but I get much better reception, no dropped callls to this date, and much better customer service (they seem to actually care about thier customers). I've talked to many people though, and it seems the only people who ever had problems with Roger's are those who had motorola flip phones (they seem to die out after a year, but this is based on my friend's reviews, so please don't take it as a scientific fact). Myself, I love sony ericsson, when you buy a sony, it comes with everything, the headset, mem card, software, adaptor, (most phones come with teh carger and that's it).

In short, my reccomendations:
Sony Ericson!
and definately
Rogers :-)
