Default Problem with blacks on toshiba dlp

Hi. Recently on my Toshiba 52HM84 I've noticed the dark scenes dont look right. Not sure how to describe it but it looks to saturated or something. I would compare it to the screen on a digital camera when viewed at an angle, almost a a faint glowing appearance. Checked all my settings nothing has been changed. Could this be caused by dust somewhere?

If nothing has been changed, perhaps that's the issue? Have a look at:

The Blacks on most non-plasma or CRTs are not as black and can have "dithering", especially if not set up properly.

Please put your location and service provider into your UserCP Profile (location). It often helps us help you. For example are the scenes you're describing from a STB? DVD? HD or SD? Etc?

Here's another thread when you have time.
