The Boys of Summer are almost back so I watched League of their Own this week with my kids. A great movie. I had seen it years ago but forgot how good it was. Another baseball movie I watched recently with my kids was The Rookie with Dennis Quad.
I found Bull Durham pretty good but since I can't stand Kevin Costner, I only found it okay. Any Baseball movie recommendations out there?

Another Costner movie: Field of Dreams.
Lots of old B&W baseball movies but not sure if you're interested in Classics. |

I thought Cobb with Tommy Lee Jones was facinating and hilarious. Major League was great too!

Stealing Home was a really good drama...
Fever Pitch was a great movie, and one for the wife/gf too... Mr. 3000 wasn't too bad a comedy... Check out this list.... LINK |

The Natural. (wasn't that Robert Redford?) If it was, I really thought that was a bad movie.

I own:
61* -For and HBO movie, it was incredibly well done...highly recommended! Alot more serious. Bad News Bears - new and old Bull Durham - Maybe the best? Fever Pitch - very funny Field of Dreams - If you build it... Major League The Natural - with the new DVD coming out, I'll be getting that one. Wonderboy is awesome! Pride of the Yankees The Rookie - Also higly recommended The Sandlot A League of Their Own is pretty good too. Hanks is great in that one. "Avoid the clap. Jimmy Dougan." (I love baseball, and as such, love baseball movies...I'm kinda like Kevin Costner)

Bull Durham was a chick flick dressed up as a sports movie to get boys AND girls into the theatre - and i'd say it pretty much worked
Field of Dreams, on the other hand, was WP Kinsella's love poem to the game of baseball (not the "sport", mind you....the game). If you can watch that movie and not have your "allergies act up" a bit....well, I feel sorry for you (or you just weren't allowing yourself to get into the movie). |

I'd recommend The Sandlot and the original Bad News Bears.

Major League. Might not be good for the kiddies, but it's a great comedy.
