Default rogers pricing

Just wondering if anyone can help. I have been trying to get some info form rogers for months now about pricing both online and over the phone. But for what ever reason they have no clue about their pricing.

I am with BEV right now and not happy with the price increase nor the fact that their audio and video are constantly going out of synch.

Does anyone have any idea how much my package would cost with Rogers. Here;s what i have:

Basic Digital package
5 pack of themes
HD package
1 Rental PVR
1 bought PVR
2 regular STB's and a
HD box.

If i moved over to rogers i would want a HD PVR and would not need the rental PVR above

Right now I pay...$64 a month plus tax.

thanx so much if you can help.

ps... does anyone know if my boought pVR work with rogers?

Your best bet would be to get a rogers vip pack.Your looking at about $70 for what you have listed. No your bell unit will not work with rogers.

The following thread may help with some ideas. See post 4 to start.

The Rogers HDPVR has been on sale recently for as little as $300. VIP is often the best "deal" and comes with a "free" SD STB for use on another TV.

I have VIP and rent a SD 8300 PVR costing $19.95 monthly

Are you saying I am also entitled to free use of a regular digital box? I presently use my own STB which I purchased.

I notice I get a VIP rebate of $6.98, is that in lieu of not having the STB?

Part of that $6.98 rebate should be a credit of $3.99... the equivalent of a standard set top box rental.

So, if you rent an SD box, you essentially get it for free... if you rent an HD and / or PVR terminal, you get the box for the rental price less $4.

BayStBoi is correct. The $6.98 VIP rebate is as follows:

$3.99 (credit for a standard SD box)
$2.99 (credit for the Digital Service Fee)
-----
$6.98 (total credits)

This is because the VIP program includes a free SD box rental, and no Digital Service Fee (however, the $2.99 PVR fee is not included).

Default same thing happened to me....

Editor -

I'm looking at making the change as well. I had to chase down a Regional Sales Auditor in order to get the straight goods as the stores were not helpful in the 'ditch the dish' program.

Here's what he offered me today. In exchange for my 2 BEV HD boxes (both non-PVR), and 1 SD box (both non-PVR) I would receive one HD-PVR unit, one HD non-PVR and a digitial set top box, plus an additional digital terminal for a 4th set.

In the new VIP package, net cost is $46.99 for 12 mos ( $58.97 after that) plus all themes free for 3 months, plus 2 Rogers on Demand movies, 3 extra outlets at no additional charge.

There has been some changes to the Package as well, included is TCM, AMC, Showcase Action and Diva, IFC, National Geographic, Biography, Discovery Health and BBC Canada which all belonged to different themes previously.

Plus the Classic TV theme is now down to $3.99.

One downside is that the Specialty HD Pak has increased to $7.95 (US Nets West, Discovery HD, TSN HD, Raptors-TV HD, PBS West).

Hope this helps.

I'd say just don't bank on getting that PVR for $299... never mind for free, nor even for its normal price of $600. The one time it was on sale for $299, it sold out within hours. Rain-checks and layaways are no longer being fulfilled, and are now starting to be canceled due to the time lapse.

Further, there are no more HD-PVRs to be bought in Ontario. In fact Future Shop long ago removed them from their listing because FS anticipates it will be months or more before they receive any. Likewise, American cable companies, which use the same box, are clear out of them and will likely get priority shipments from the manufacturer Scientific Atlanta (because Time-Warner dwarfs Rogers and is 100X more important a customer to SA).

Uh.. the 8300 PVR is still listed on Future Shop's site ($399 as the price now), and they are showing availability at a few stores throughout the GTA.

Right at the end of that promotion, I was in my local Future Shop and they had a stack of those SA8300HD units.

SkiBunny is referring to the 8300HD box. The one on Future shop site for $399.99 is not the HD version.

That's right. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I dont believe the Rogers 8300HD can be had anywhere now. I've repeatedly read that the supply problem persists throughout the U.S. too.

Yep iI saw those too, but nothing with recording capability.

If supply is so tight, I wonder if even Rogers has any left now.

I was a bit worried about that when I signed up for the HD package back near the beginning of the month. But they surprised me, and the SA8300HD showed up within something like 4 days. So I guess they're finding some somewhere (not convinced the one I got was brand new; might have been a refurbished one, but it seems to be working okay)
