Default Daylight Saving Time change

As you probable now, the date DST come into effect will be a different date this year. There could be a lot of missed recordings that day. Any idea whether Rogers is trying to handle this situation properly?

Comes into effect March 11th this year instead of April 1st (personally 34 weeks of Daylight time and only 18 weeks of Standard time, I think perhaps it's time we renamed things, and stayed on Atlantic Standard time for the Spring summer and Fall, and Atlantic Winter Time for November to March - though personally I'd be quite happy to on "summer" time year round).

Isn't that part of what the upgrades on the SA cable boxes have been for in the last few weeks? To prepare for the change?

Exactly correct! Let's hope that the new firmware does the job properly.

During other time changes, the firmware did not handle SOME of the scheduled recordings properly.

Yes. And they had years to get it right. Now that things are changing I think we can expect a few glitches.

I plan on checking my recordings the evening before and the morning after since I have seen things mysterious change overnight. I suspect this is due to the forward-looking nature of the scheduler and the adjusted schedule.
