I am thinking about changing to Shaw for phone service but I have heard that you can not call 1-800 numbers when you have Shaw for your phone service - is this true?
Thanks! |

I have Vonage now, and one of the complaints that's making me consider switching to Shaw is that you can't dial Canadian-only 1-800 numbers. American ones, and N.Am ones are fine.
This better not be the same with Shaw, since they're all-canadian. |

Access in Regina uses a similar service, and I can call toll-free numbers fine, at least the ones I've tried so far.
Vonage definitely has that problem. It can be an advantage if you watch American Idol, though... Primus is still having trouble with toll-free numbers. Some work and some don't. |

Its 1-900 numbers that you can not call
1-800 numbers are fine along with all the other types 1-888 1-866 etc etc And with unlimited long distance I find I get quicker service calling a toll number then the 1-800 number
