Default New Nokia N-Gage Game Phone - Fall 2007

Quote:
Nokia to Launch New N-Gage this Fall

Ah, and all the memories of tacos and side-talkin' are flooding back in. A report in a Nokia sponsored blog has revealed that the company is indeed planning on introducing new N-Gage technology later this year, and they've already got support from two major publishers.

Despite the fact that Nokia's N-Gage was ridiculed for its taco-like appearance and that the phone/handheld gaming device just didn't sell very well for the Finnish company (even with the relaunch of the improved QD model), Nokia is apparently giving the N-Gage another chance to succeed.

Default N-gage, most underated phone

Personally, I think the n-gage is the most underated phone ever.
It was billed out as a handheld gaming console, and thats why it failed.
If they had sold it at rogers (or another cell provider) I think it would have faired much better. I picked one up for 50 bucks brand new a few months ago (along with 5 games, 2 bucks each) and it's pretty advanced. Some things that impressed me:
1: It's bluetooth, even though its older.
2: It's own email client
3:symbian operating system meaning you can put the opera browser on it, you can play nes/snes roms on it, etc etc (tons of hacks and programs)
4: some of the games on it are actually really good. Worms world party looks and play just like on the pc!
5: SE isn't the first 4 gig mp3 player, the n-gage (and every other mp3 phone out there that you can stick a 4 gig card in) is. (I realise you have to put extra software on the n-gage to make it an mp3 player).

I also like how with the n-gage QD you don't have to take the battery out, it looks pretty good, even with today's standard, etc.

If the new n-gage comes with a qwerty keyboard, then it'd be da bomb.

Sign me up. I loved the QD. Colin McRae, FIFA and that little Commandos-like game. It had insane battery life, Symbian Series 60, awesome speakerphone and could hold a signal like a mofo.

I should find a used one.
