They must have figured out they were the cheapest and could gouge customers for a few more $$

Has Best Buy followed suit?

I have noticed HD DVD's going up in price. Both at futureshop and best buy. BB has quite a few titles at $54.99

I'm guessing the initial rollouts were loss-leaders and that now we can see the true water level.

It doesn't look like Amazon.com increased their prices (yet?).

$47.99 for Superman Returns at FS in HD-DVD?

And $29.99 for the BD version?

Something seriously smells rotten...

You got that right, the BB closest to my work has a full width shelf overflowing with Blu-Ray movies. The HD-DVD shelf right next to it is the same size and has maybe 1/8 of the number of movies. Makes it look to the uninformed that you would have a dramatically smaller range of titles to choose from.

One thing to remember, Canadian sales are not going to make or break either format. Our friends to the south, with their 10X population, are going to decide this battle.
