I've been reading some threads I searched for on info about the PSP, but there isn't a lot of recent stuff that I could find. I have absolutely no experience with gaming devices and would use something like a PSP for movies and music when I travel. The last trip I took there was this guy sitting next to me watching a movie on his. Looked a lot more convenient than my laptop! I should have asked him more about it, but of course all my questions arose after the flight!
Con you transfer DVD's to PSP's memory stick? If so, how much space do they take up...i.e. how big a memory stick would one need for a typical two hour movie? Any idea on how good the batteries are now? Some earlier threads indicated it wasn't too good, but that Sony would be coming out with a better battery. I think you can change the battery, but can you get extra batteries with an external charger? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks & cheers, RH |

Hi Roadhouse,
Google is your friend. I Googled "transfer movies to psp" The very first link provides a paid or free solution. I've used some of this guy's suggestions before with positive results. Happy converting. Congo

Google the tool PSPVideo9. This will help you convert your DVD's to the proper MPEG4 format that the PSP can playback. The caveat is that the tool won't combine multiple VOB files into a single MPEG4 file, you'll need to use a decrypting tool that will do that for you (DVDDecryptor is good one).

If you're interested in recording from TV or DVD direct to a memory card (save a step or two) you might want to look at the Neuros MPEG-4 Recorder 2 or the Sandisk V-Mate.
From what I've read the Neuros is the better of the two. I've been tempted to get one myself.

Hmmmm....thanks guys. Lots to think about for sure and good advice. I'm thinking that the cost of the PSP along with the Memory Sticks might be a little steep as compared to a portable DVD player...that has a bigger screen.
Cheers, RH |

Anyone here have one of these Neuros Recorder 2 devices? I can't find a Canadian retailer who carries this.
