Just subscribe to this website http://www.consolewatch.com/ and they e-mail you when there are systems in stock. That's how i got me PS3 60 gig. Great site.

Default Consolewatch Problems

Twice in the last couple of days I got emails from consolewatch that Wii was available but by the time I received email and checked (5 minutes later) they were sold out again

I get those consolewatch emails too, but even 30 seconds later, they're gone.

I wonder how the camper-outers know where to line up overnight? Is there an underground network of shipment leaks?

Its not even 30 seconds later - its immediate.

I think Consolewatch is issuing "false positives" from stores like Toys R Us or Cotco who put the items up, perhaps accidentally, for a split second and then remove them for whatever reason.

I have a stand alone internet PC right by my work PC so when I get the consolewatch e-mail I simply turn around and theres Consolewatch. Each time those Wii notices came up, there was no "Buy it" logo. And it doesn't take me very long to turn my chair.

Just a tip for those ordering new Wii Straps - use the old ones on the nunchuks for the other wrist instead of trying to udo and redo near the Wiimote

Hi!

I wonder how long it will be before these are a regular-stock item?

According to salesmen at my local The Source I talked to, they don't expect to have stock for another 4 months...

They told me that one of their "friends" at EB Games told they got some each week and that they were supposed to have some today so I waited for the store to open today (inside the Mall though)...

I unfortunatly didn't leave with a WII ... Was the salesman bs his two "friends" or were they supposed to have some later today, I don't know (and I didn't want to stay there all day)...

They better start having more stock because if that continues some people are going to buy the other consoles instead (I already have an Xbox so the "logical" move for me would be to buy a 360...).

Have a nice day!

BTW, I wish the Consolewatch posts included the names of the stores which supposedly have Wii in stock... It might help identify the source of those possible FPs...

The reason consolewatch doesn't do that is because they make money by getting the "hit" when everyone goes to their site to check

Hi Becks!

I thought about it but they don't have any banners so how do they get any money out of it?

Have a nice day!

I'm with Matteo, I just don't have the dedication as I used to to get these consoles. I don't remember the demand for a console being so high! Working Mon-Fri doesn't give me the option to camp overnight!

After checking with the local EB Games and FS, people are still lining up and camping waiting for Nintendo to send shipments, hard to compete with that!

I did however pick up a component cable at FS as well as a classic controller. Just need the console to go with it

A week ago I was in the same position. Extra controller, component cables... no console.

I got a friend with some time off to go check out the mall on thursday and he got one for me at EB Games. In exchange he and his wife can come over to play it whenever they want (within reason)

Yes, it is very difficult even with Console Watch to get there in time. But even though I have not gotten one, I have made it to the web site fast enough to see it in stock. I don't think many are put up, compared with the PS3, which you can usually see 80 come up when the alert goes out and it stays available for an hour or two.

Also consider that email is not immediate. And some people will get the email before others. So it's still a crap shoot.

Hi!

And some people will get the email before others.

There's always the possibility of using the RSS feed...

Have a nice day!

I'm using the RSS feed through my Squeezebox located under my TV. So, when I'm at home watching TV, I can see what's going on at a glance. Otherwise, I use the email notification.
