Sorry wan't sure to post a new thread on this or just work with the existing thread.
I bought the TH-42PX60U this weekend along with the xbox 360. Set the xbox for HDMI. When i started to play Gears of War, i noticed that everytime there was sound involved (gunfire, sound effects) i woul dget these red horizontal lines across the screen. It would look ok when i was just standing there but when i moved or fired i had them. Also, sound only game out of one of the speakers and a buzzing sound out of the other. So i unplgged the RCA for the buzzing speaker and got sound only out of the one, but still red lines. Decided to unplug the xbox and put straight into my standard 27" RCA box and works perfectly, no lines, no sound buzzing. Would anyone know what could be causing this? Thanks for the help |

Might be a problem with your HDMI cable. I'm not a Xbox specialist but try to plug it with component cables and see the difference. Also, do you have to same problem with other equipement hooked up with HDMI ? I suspect a conflict with HDMI cable.

There is no 360 HDMI cable (not does MS support one) so I'm curious how you managed that in the first place.
Stick with the component cable that should have come with the 360. I have the same tv with a 360 with no such problems. Perhaps try watching a DVD with it to see if something similar occurs. Perhaps you got a dud tv? Consider calling the MS 360 support line as well. |

'Used only the 3 component cables" ? I think you mean composite cables ,i.e. red/white/yellow.
Component cables are usually coded red/blue/green and are for video only. Anyway, as to your original problem, it sounded like you accidently swapped cables on the '5 plug HD AV cable' as you call it, probably mixed the red audio cable with the red video component cable.
