I got email today indicating that the console is "fixed" and will get another email when it ships... still expecting to receive it sometime next week

I sent mine in on the 28th and just got a replacement today. I sent in and received a falcon, but the one they sent me is louder, it it like a fan making a wurring sound and it is very annoying.

As long as it does not RROD again I should be able to live with the noise.

Turns out the dvd drive is very loud, it makes a grinding noise when in use. I plan to call MS about this later today but I am expecting I am SOL.

It is unusable it is so loud.

They'll take care of it, trust me. I received a replacement 360 that had a noisy drive and I sent it back. Heck, I even received one that was in bad shape and I told them this is unacceptable, and they replaced that too.

As it turns out, Purolator tried to deliver the replacement unit on Wednesday but no one was home - they should be delivering it again today... so it took less than a week from the time I dropped it off

Are you saying they replaced your unit with a Xenon? Wow!

(That was the first revision of the XBox - the one without HDMI).

I got the ring of death on my Xbox back in July. It took me a couple months to return it but I did the second week of September. It took about two weeks to get it returned so I can't really complain there. The do send refurbished X-Box's and not new. And I believe they're the older models as well, so I'm half expecting to have this problem again.

Yeah, I sent in a Zephyr and got another one in return (16,5A on the power rating).

Oh well, at least I still am covered for RRoD for another year or so.

Just had my second 360 RRoD on me. It was an HDMI model, but not the one with the latest chipset. The power supply output 200w still. I picked up an Arcade unit to replace it. Smaller external power supply that outputs 150w and a date of Dec 2009, so I guess this is the latest and greatest build. I wonder if this one will make it past the two year mark...

Just printed my UPS shipping label today

This is my second 360 going back to MS. It's not an RROD however (neither was the first), instead the disc drive just decided not to read any discs anymore. Hoping to get it sent out later this week.

I think a bunch are now breaking again. I dropped mine off to UPK last week and the UPS lady was is shock how many she had been getting that week. I got an new one back quickly - but I am now on my third. How lame is that. My last one lasted over a year and it was relatively new with the HDMI port.

The original HDMI units (Zephyr chipset) had a failure rate of around 30%, so just being an HDMI model doesn't make it reliable. The following Falcons were around 10% and the newest Jaspers are under 1%.

My Xbox died again last night, error E74 with one red light (bottom right or the 4th one). This one lasted just over one year.

This will be my sixth one, and this one is one of the newer replacement repair ones - Opus, with no HDMI but new chip.

I printed the label and am sending it out at 8am this morning. I kept the box and shipping materials from my last one lol.

Hopefully it doesn't take too long to return.

Default Zombie 360

Ok so I got the RROD... AGAIN... except this time it went away by itself!!! this has happened a couple of times where I try to turn the 360 on, get the RROD, try a few more times and then it works fine (all other times it turns on normally)... my guess is that sooner or later it will die completely and I will have to go through this process AGAIN - perhaps it's now in some sort of near-death, undead or zombie state... Hopefully it won't try to eat my brains in the meantime

Has anyone else experienced this?
