Two months seems like a long wait for just the box, but would be no surprise. My first return went quickly and as smooth as could be. 15-20 day turn around for the whole process. Second return and I was not so lucky. It took about one month and many frustrating calls to get the box shipped. After sending it back, it then took slightly over a month to get a console back. I am happy with the latest console so far. To my eyes it appears to be brand new. Newer manufacture date and no signs of use. It seems to run a lot quieter than my last two units. I swore to my buddies that there was no way in hell I'd buy another game until I had a unit which would last at least 3 months but couldn't resist and walked out of future shop with COD3 and a couple of new HDDVD's. Dammit!!
A few curiosities after reading posts here. Their agents always took/confirmed my email & phone # but never sent any of the promised correspondence. My tracking #s never worked at Purolator website.
Oh well. I'm up and running again. For the time being anyways........

I had my box replaced a couple of months ago - called on a Sunday night, had my new 360 back in my hands by the Wednesday of next week. Of course the 'repair' center is at my old work address in Don Mills, so they didn't have to ship it far either way. Completely painless and efficient. Dunno when I'm going to see my refund on the exchange - of course my wife sees the credit card bills and not me so I may never know when/if I get that back.

So 67% of my units failed over an 18 month period with the dreaded RROD.
I arrived home last night and was pleasantly surprised to see that my replacement 360 was sitting there waiting for me !

My end to end turn turnaround time was :

7/23/07 -- Placed called for Coffin
7/27/07 -- Coffin arrives
7/28/07 -- 360 sent back to MS
8/16/07 -- Replacement 360 arrives

Mine died yesterday ... brought it back to futureshop since I had an extended warranty. The person said that it gets sent away to FS in Toronto and then they decide if it gets repaired or replaced. She said to expect a call anytime from 2 days to 4 weeks. If its not repaired within 60 days, the store gives me a new one .

Well, it's now 1 month to the day that my xbox broke, and no real signs of getting a new one.

July 28: xbox broke
July 29: Called MS
Aug 1: Box sent out
Aug 7: box recieved
Aug 8: Xbox sent back
Aug 13: Xbox arrived at service centre

Now 16 days later the repair status online say 'Console Recieved at Service Centre" OR something like that.

How long does it take to send out a refurb? Please tell me that they aren't actually repairing my box, Either send out a refurb in great condition or a new one, don't fix your mistake on my time.

I have friends who had received their replacement boxes within a week from the first call. Are MS just so overwhelmed with their mistake that they cannot handle all the broken units?

I love my xbox, but if this happens again out of warranty, I won't get a new one.

This might explain the delays ... the qty of xbox's being sent back is overwhelming.

OMG!! finally, after 2 months of waiting I finally got my xbox360 back!

what a brutal process I tell you.. I think dealing with the courier was the worse part.

funny enough though, all my anger went away as soon as I was able to plug bioshock in.

Just got mine back after 2 months. Looks like a refurb, different serial number, same date of manufacture.... Works good so far

Arrgh, 2 months? So much for the couple of days I took off work to play some Halo. MS shipped the box on August 10 and received my 360 on August 21. So I should expect October sometime?

Look on the bright side--you might be able to pick up Halo 3 used by the time you get your system back...

Nah, now I'm considering buying another one, maybe an Elite. I was getting tired of making space on the hd. I've got a friend that would be interested in my replacement if I do. I dunno, I'll think about it over the next week.

Either that or keep both. That way I'll have a spare when I need it
