Can anyone suggest a place in Calgary where I can get a decent AV racking system. We are getting a 58" Panny plasma and having aunit built to house the TV and speakers. Wife wants all the AV equipment put into a closet adjacent to the wall of the room beside the TV. Essentially, out of sight, but accessible from the viewing area easily.
It will need to fit the following equipment: Pioneer Elite 54 TXi THX receiver Denon 2200 DVD player BEV set top box (9200 PVR model) Pioneer Elite HDD video and DVD recorder old Toshiba VHS recorder/player expansion possibly for an XBox or PS3 HD DVD player or BluRay disk player I was going to use either a Niles remote distribution system to run everything from the family room. (Is there a better price/performance system anyone can recommend?) The closet is about 28" deep and against an outside basement wall which helps regulate temperature. I may, however need to add a ventilation hole at the top for air flow (one side will be for AV equipment, the other end is partial pantry and coat storage. I came across the Middle Atlantic brand name and it looks like it is flexible enough to do the job while providing air flow around the equipment. When looking at racking systems, how tall a rack will I need. Will each piece of equipment need a shelf, or is it possible to directly mount to a rack (I am assuming I need to buy shelves). What is a rack unit of hieght? 2", 2.5"? I can \'t find this info. Thanks for all help. |

If you really want to do it up, look at the middle atlantic RSH SERIES CUSTOM RACKMOUNT accessories. These are ordered to the exact spec. of your gear. Very cool. We use it at the college for DVD players and VCR's in cabinet racks.

Can I get this stuff in Canada? I am not keen to pay duty over the border.

We got it through our local A.V. supplier in Peterborough. I expect most any custom A.V. shop could order it. Did you look for a dealer listing on the Middle Atlantic web site?
