Hi - I hope this is the right thread for this question...!
I have a 5900 in our basement family room that's feed to the TV is via audio cables and an S video cable. I would like to take a signal from the 5900 (via an existing un-used RG6 cable) to a new TV in a sperate room (yes I know the channles will be the same - its actually the PVR function that I want feed to the new TV). Can anyone provide an installtion explaination of this type of set up? Thanks for your help! BRN |

you conect the cable from both tv's tothe back of the receiver.
The output on both tv's will always be the same. The PVR cannot be fed/used to one TV and not the other. |

So if I use an RG6 cable OUT from the receiver to the second TV it'll work? Without any issues to the receiver (its seems this would be the case as Im not touching in the inbound cable from the sat).
Thanks again for your help here. |

Yes... It will work. (I'm doing just that). I have my living room TV hooked up via s-video and a cable running to a small TV in the bedroom. What's great is the fact the remote is UHF and not infra-red. I can control my 5900 from the bedroom. This would be impossible with an infra red remote.
FWIW, your TV has NOTHING to do with the operation of the satellite receiver. The 5900 will work just fine with no TV attached.. The only problem with not using a TV set is that you won't be able to see anything |
