Ahhh.. interested huh?
I found it at Rona Entrepot (Anjou). It's a 36" wide by 6' roll. It's under $9. Reno Depot has it too, same price. it's hard to find where they keep it though. You're better to ask. Not sure about the gauge though. I believe it was 18, but I can't be sure since I haven't bought it yet. Marc |

I just want to reply my experience visiting Raybel electronique today.
I just got back from there and must thank this forum for the recommendation. I went there for some parts to mount the mast/EMT conduit and antenna parts like a coax surge protectors. I was served by Marc-André, which was very helpful and patient. My first thought was to go to Montcalm in Laval since I knew where it was and was easier to get to by public transport. But after reading the comments here I opted for Raybel, and I'm glad I did. True, some stuff is more expensive, but some are cheaper than even Addisons. Most of all, they had stock which Addisons didn't (like those coax surge supressors) and you get no help at all at the counter. Marc |

Do you mean a coax grounding block, the kind with F-81 connectors/union that is usually mounted to the outside of the home? Something like this
or this ?If so, Addisons have them pretty cheap. For Coax Surge supressors, Raybel has them. I bought two. Marc |

Daemons,
thanks for those ideas, and thanks about Fastenal, they had all the fittings needed, a little pricey, but considering were in Montreal, nice to have a close by supplier for those industrial products Sean was very helpful, and they carry all kinds of stock steel materials...a |

The manager of the Anjou branch is a .... and I got horrible service. That why I didn't report back on my order, as I would have gone on a mega rant. But here are the facts: 1st. Prices online are not the in-store prices. On average, on top of the exchange (USD online) you need to add about 12% to them. I was only told this after my order came in. It was my fault for not asking. 2nd. I was told it would take 2-3 days to order. It took almost 2 weeks. Apparently there was an error in my order. When I asked how come, she only gave vague answers about ordering systems. I believe she had made a mistake and was avoiding the question. 3rd. When I placed the order, she had told me it was 4% of my order for transport charge and for my order it would be $2.50. When my order was in I was charged $11. So what I've learned from this experience is: Always ask for a written quote with the total. That way they can't change prices or charges on you once your order comes in. This was my personal experience, and hopefully it's not how other Fastenal branches do business. But it's clear their business is not geared toward general public. So my advice to others is be aware. And ask for your order in writing! That said, the fittings are very nice. But it left a bitter taste with me. Marc |

Hi,
I'm looking for an RCA Chimney mount Kit locally. They used to sell them at Addisons but have none left and they told me they wont restock. If anyone knows of a store that still sells them, please let me know. I'm in Montreal, but South shore and Laval is fine. Marc |

Daemonds, try calling Maddison in Laval if not I think I saw some at Access Electronique in DDO. Did you happen to notice if Addison still has the GE pre-amp?

I did. They don't have the RCA Chimney kit but they have a Philips Chimney kit that's half the price ($7) and has everything you need. The RCA kit has a lot of baluns, connectors and cable management parts not necessary to mounting an antenna. I have all that stuff already so it was a great find.
As reference, the Philips Chimney mounting kit they have is pretty much the same as a Channel Master 3080 Chimney Mount. It looks exactly the same, but with 10' straps instead of 12' ones. They also sell a generic of the CM3078 universal roof/attic mount for a $1.50! I didn't need one, but at that price I picked up one anyway. I noticed Maddison also sells some PCT brand distribution amplifiers which are made for Channel Master. The single output CM3410 was $50 & the 4 output CM3414 was $60. You also get friendlier service than at Montcalm. Lol No exterior antennas yet, but the told me they're looking into it. Thats better than addison which seem to think antennas are all but dead. Maddison it worth having a look at. They're a few corners up from Montcalm. I Don't know how good their 95% RG-6 coax is. Anyone know? They were all out when I went, but I think I'll try it. Oh, anyone looking for the underground RG-6 type cable, they have it stock. Marc Last edited by Daemons; 2009-12-06 at 11:16 AM. Reason: added info |

They also have a tripod mount with a short mast for Sat dishes, but I imagine it could be used with a longer antenna mast. That was $30, which is $10 less than Addison's for some reason. Like I said if you're in the area, it's worth checking out. Marc |
