Default Is there a reliable store in Toronto for new HD-DVD movie releases?

I've been searching the forums and I honestly can't say I can find a place that sells HD-DVDs when they are supposed to be on shelves. In fact, it almost seems as though finding new releases is quite a complicated task. Can anyone here reccomend a store in the GTA that pretty much guarantees to have the latest HD-DVD releases on shelves? Thanks!

As you have probably already discovered the best place to buy HD DVDs is Amazon.com.

Prices are are superior to Canadian retailers plus you can get 10% off all HD purchases for a year. You pay shipping but no taxes.

Just had 4 titles shipped last night(today releases). They should be here this Thursday.

Oh well. Makes me wonder though that when I order from Amazon, the movie I want would be on shelves by the time it arrived at my doorstep :P

Unless, of course I want to pay more for swift shipping.

I second DVD Wave. Really friendly service (especially Michele and his wife, Aurore). They not only provide friendly service, they actually become friends with most of their customers. I started shopping from them since 1997 and have purchased more than 1,000 titles so far (LD, DVD, HD-DVD)

I can second DVD Wave as well. Great service but as mentioned elsewhere, as a Mom & Pop shop, they cannot compete price wise with the chains.

4 titles hey James - I see 6 listed:
12 Monkeys
The Interpreter
Out of Sight
Slither
Spartacus
The Thing

Actually, just called them (yellowpages has the wrong number). Apparently they will order movies if the customer asks, which takes a few weeks for the movie to arrive, so DVD Wave is out.

Anyone know where I can pick up The Thing without ordering it in? It would also be nice to know where Mission Impossible 3 will be when it's released.

.com has better selection. Canadian dollar isn't as strong as a few months ago but .com is still better all around. Better selection, prices and no tax. Plus, the 10% discount (if you qualify) for a year.

Well finally listened to James advice and ordered some HD DVDs from Amazon but I couldn't get the promo code to work so I emailed Amazon after placing my order.
Ordered:
Serenity 19.95
The Thing 19.88
Robin Hood 19.95

Subtotal of Items: $59.78
Shipping & Handling: $9.96
Promotion Applied: -$5.98
------
Total for this Order: $63.76

Amazon then responded and said I was eligible for the promo and that an additional 6.40 credit would be applied against my order. Is that correct? I thought the promo became effective for subsequent orders not the initial one.

If it is then I get the 3 discs for 57.36 or 19.12 US a disc which works out to 21.48 Canadian per disc. Very nice.

Nope. It starts from order 1. On a related note, my titles did come yesterday, as expected.
