Default Philips 32" Widescreen LCD HDTV** (32PF7421D/37)

http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/prodde...2&catid=23244#
(link didn't appear to show up in the preview)

Just picked this up tonight at Best Buy -- and all I have to say is WOW I LOVE IT!!!!

The PQ is amazing in my humble and far from expert opinion and it has a ton of iinputs, and the sound is crystal clear and again as far as I go its great.

2 HD component
1 HDMI
1 S-Video
2 A/V (composite? I am a newbie to this or are the HD composite? I have no clue lol)
1 USB

and some I probably I missed.

Was playing my Xbox 360 in 1080i -- wow not sure how I played the thing on my old SDTV -- which was actually really good, but this thing just blows it away.

Anyhow the sale ends the 24th I believe, if you are looking for a 32" LCD HDTV then I highly recommend this -- the pq while at the store looked really good, it was next to some sony's and a samsung, and the pq was easily comparable. Though once I got it home, and set up the pq improved a ton, as far as my eye can see at any rate.

This TV was $999 and sold in a couple of hours here in Vancouver. I ordered it online (got the last unit for that price). It still says out of stock on the order form though...
TV looks very and an excellent bargain (at least from what I saw looking at the display unit)

This is possibly an S-IPS panel? If so I would be interested in with the 37" version. Do they have larger ones 40-42-46"

Just got mine. Very impressed with it, and I like it more than my friends 56ish" Samsung 1080p DLP.
Now I need a DVI cable to hook up my HTPC to it.
If S-IPS is where you can see it from the very side, then it is. As I can see the picture clearly even from the side (when you can only see a portion of the screen)

Got this TV for everyday watching, will experiment tomorrow. It looked really good with SD broadcasts when I was eyeing them earlier in December.

Went into best buy, waiting in line some guy sold me his flyer special for $5 for a Sharp 32" 40U save $700 $1599 selling for $899, they didn't have it so they said pick any TV and we can give you the best price. No love lost on the Sharp since I know the 40U is an Orion made rebrand.

So I picked this one, most people don't know how good this TV is, so they completely by passed it and there were plenty there. It was on sale today for $999 at Best Buy.

But they offered it to me for $899, I figure might as well try for a Sanus tilting wall mount, managed to snag that for $100 extra reg $130. Their costs on the Philips TV is $873.

From my limited test that I conducted yesterday with the Philips I have to say displaying standard broadcasts are amazing! Using a digital processing feature called Pixel Plus. Makes text sharper and enhances each pixel for more detail. Almost CRT like.

Very impressed with DVD material "Last Samurai" I played back yesterday with a Samsung HD-860 upconverting player to 720P connected through HDMI. All detail there and revealing the short comings of DVD.

Will be trying HD sources in the coming week..
