I work at CTV, so I got an inter office memo on TSN's sched. I'm sure it will be out there soon, but here it is a little head of sched maybe.

I always wonder when I see these things .. why only 1/2 the games in HD? I mean if you can do 1/2, why can't you do all?

Is this where we also comment on TSNHD's hockey quality?

First game tonight of Leafs-Sens.

Whats with the ticker being a foot down from the top, cant remember it like that from last year.

Showing SD highlights from other HD games is sort of lame.

And I wont get into Pierre Mcguire...........

They seem to be having an issue keeping Sportscentre in HD. A couple of times they've flipped back to SD. Snoozing at the switch?

The 5.1 sounds is pretty sweet with the checks into the boards.

I've not been tuned to the TSN broadcast thruout.
Can anyone with TSN contacts find an explaination for the SD out of the studio.
TSN has a spanking new HD studio, and the intermission is in SD!
What's up with that?

The PQ varied depending on the camera, the sound was 5.1 and was great, Pierre was informative as usual, Tie was humble and very nervous, the announcers were unbiased...all in all a good production. It will be very interesting to compare this to the HNIT production tonight from the CBC.

i am so frustrated with the scoreboard TSN used for the ottawa toronto game. I mean it was so big and ugly. In the dallas colorado game they shrunk it a bit but cmon, why does every broadcaster have to have this scoreboard which takes up the top of the screen. what was wrong with the top left scoreboard?

The non-HD for everything but the broadcast look bush. My two complaints about the scorelinethingy is the actual scores, which are a yellowish-orange, stand out too much and is distracting. A dull red like what is used for the TSN logo on the right would be better. The other complaint is nudging the thing up a bit. I wish TSN would follow Sportsnet's lead on framing for 16x9 and giving the SD viewers the letterbox treatment. Put the scoreline on the top black bar and the ticker on the bottom black bar. Voila! No complaints from the SD viewers about a smaller picture.

The 5.1 was really nice. Kill off the centre channel and PRESTO! no more Pierre McGuire. Sweet!
