thx danster! i am hoping my 20/20 vision for atleast 15-20 years because it usually went down every year and its still good . I will mention what I can do (and keep the drops in mind) when I go to my follow up in April (as they told me to go). Hopefully my eyes stay at perfect vision for atleast 10 years, so far I have 4 more years of followups.

I was told the surgery is supposed to stabilize (?) the eye prescription, until of of course natural factors set in at a later date.

No problem.
Here's one for you: 4 months ago, I really thought I needed to go back for another surgery. One eye was out of focused and I knew it was me going back as before as far as vision goes. I'd slightly press on the outside of my pupil and it would clear up. Now this isn't the case. It looks as if my eye went back to normal. As you can see, eyes will grow and shrink at anytime.

How about "eye training"? I don't really know about this but you can find out. Also, my right eye is good but left eye is bad.(like 20/100 or 20/200 maybe? I don't really know.)

Unhappy Regretting My Lasik Decision Every Minute

I'm regretting my lasik decision every minute of the day, constant pain, worse vision, halos at night, life was so much easier before lasik! Hopefully one day I can forgive myself for doing this to my eyes. I think its going to be hard.

I'm not saying it's perfect but having worn glasses for 3/4 of my life, the little problems I have now and then outweighs the bad. Yes I have to blink more than once sometimes to rehydrate my eyes or focus a bit better but hey, it could be worse.

Amazes me that most people that say how much they are dissapointed with lasik have only one post or two. I know we are all entitled to our opinion but it just looks like a weird coincidence.

I'm scheduled for surgery next week at Focus Eye Center in Ottawa. I opted for Intralase SBK with wavefront. A little more expensive but I only wanted the best. Plus it's a 24 hr recovery :-)

Just extremely anxious to get it done. Not nervous one bit about it, just looking forward to the results.

I'll post my comments after the surgery.

Good luck on the surgery. Had mine done 6 years ago and still enjoying a 20/20 vision. But just so you know, that laser is loud when it starts. Expect a loud sound. I didn't know, was startled like hell and the machine had to be reset.

Unhappy Taking time off work because of lasik

currently I'm taking some time off work to try and get some relief from all of my lasik problems. Having a hard time trying to figure out how I could have let them do this to me. Should have taken my tim e rather then just jump right in. Have talked to numerous people since the surgery that have also had complaints about lasikmd. They pretty much push anybody through and they do it as quick as possible without proper testing and screening, won't see the surgeon until 5 mins before the procedure.

As with ANY surgical procedure, it is always wise to take some time, instead of jumping right in, unless the surgery is life saving...
I feel sorry for you, and hopefully stories like yours will make people think twice before getting elective surgery done without contemplating the what-if's...

Aren't LASIK MD the bargain basement guys in this industry? $450 per eye or whatever they advertise?

My sister and I had verrry good results with LasikMD. We are both 20-15 and loving no glasses or contacts.

That is not true. I looked at the credentials of my doctor before I accepted. My wife had her eyes done at $900 each and her vision is still 20/20 today (6 years later). Mine is too, but was more expensive. Before you make a wide statement simply based on the "starting" price, know how pricing is done.

I think travisc was asking a question ? not making a wide statement.
From the LASIK MD web page.

If any other laser vision correction clinic offers a better price than LASIK MD, while providing equivalent services and technology, we will match the competitor’s price and deduct an additional $100 off the cost of your procedure.
So they look like they want to be the bargain basement guys to me. But the price has gone up to $490 each.

For certain things like, circumcisions and Lasik eye surgery, I would recommend the cheapest price not be your top priority...
